Oh no, November
Hello
again Reader,
October is over. Here in the cold north, leaves have all but fallen to the ground. The trees are bare, and the skies are gray. Rain is cold and constant, and the sun hardly has time to peek through the veil of clouds before it sets. The days grow shorter, the nights longer, as the year nears its end. A long wait for winter snows begins.
November is by far the worst month of the year up here. It is a season unto itself. A dreary span between vibrant fall and silent winter, without the full and rich characteristics of either, instead only the worst from both. Sometimes, further up north, it might snow, only to have it melt away within days. Sometimes there might still be an oak or two with rustic leaves, but the winds make sure that they don’t remain for long.

Beautiful view from my apartment. |
But enough of that. You’re here for an-
Update!
You’ve probably noticed that I’ve added links to previous and next chapters within the chapter pages. It should make reading through the entirety of book one fairly streamlined. I’m still working on formatting it into a downloadable/readable PDF. I’ll try and have it done in around two weeks. I don’t want to rush it. The plan I’ve hinted at is also still under works, and I want it to be a surprise.
Writing wise, I’ve taken a step back from the Chronologies. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a little creatively drained at the moment, and I don’t want to go into the Chronologies half assed. This always tends to happen around this time of year. Thus, I’ve worked on a short story that’s a mix of 2001 a space Odyssey and At the Mountains of Madness in order to keep my creative faculties lubricated. It’s always good, as a writer, to write even though you’re not working on your main project. A skill is like a muscle that needs daily use, ergo if you don’t use it you lose it.
I’ll probably start writing book three of the Chronologies by the end of next week. By then I’m looking to be ready to read through Book two and start getting at least the first few chapters ready for posting. So, you can expect to be reading book two either after or around the same time I get the PDF of book one finished. (Most likely after.)
Well, that’s about it for today. I’m sorry I don’t have more for you.
…
You’re still here?
Okay, fine.
Cool things I’ve experienced last month!
Yours truly has not just been writing this entire time. Sadly, I am all too human as well, and thus I’ve spent some of my time in leisure. (How dare I!) And some of the cool things I’ve spent my leisure on I wish to share with thee!
The first is a game called Void Stranger, created by System Erasure, an indie dev team made up of two Finnish guys. And hot damn was it an amazing experience. It’s a sokoban puzzle game with lovingly rendered Game Boy style graphics, with an intensely deep story that folds open through several playthroughs. It’s chalked full of puzzles and secrets and obscure lore. I dove in headfirst without any warning and I drowned (happily).
I don’t recommend it for everyone. It’s difficult, it doesn’t hold your hand, it forces you to think outside of the box, at times literally, but the rewards are worth it. Those rewards being the deep sense of accomplishment when you finally overcome a difficult puzzle. I liken the feeling to that of souls games, of which I’m a fan.
So, if you want to experience it, give the devs some love and buy the game. It’s only about 12€ on steam. But please play it WITHOUT a guide. At first.
For more info about it for those who want at least some heads up, check out Super Eyepatch Wolf’s video on it.

Another thing that I’ve been spending time on is rewatching Naruto. The reason for this is that my lovely girlfriend hasn’t seen it, much less watched any anime apart from Ghibli movies, and thus I've convinced her to watch it with me from start to finish.
Don’t you worry, I’ve not subjected her to the hell that are the fillers and repetitive episodes. We’re watching the Ocean cut, which, 20 episodes in at the time of writing, has been a very enjoyable experience for the both of us. I’ll not provide a link to it, but you can easily find it online on old threads.
Okay, that’s enough for today.
Thank you once again for being a part of this.
I’ll see you next Saturday at the latest.
