Project Update & Chapter 4 Release.

‘Tis time once again that I come to you with a post. This one will be on the shorter side, seeing as I’ve not much to say.

I’ve been steadily chipping away at book 2, though the progress is slow. I don’t have many hours in the day to write, and as mentioned in the previous post, I’ve simulation training going on that eats up the lion’s share.

But rejoice, this is a simultaneous release with chapter 4!

By now our lanky tin-man and his canine companion have found the strange botanist out in the desert, heard a strange tale about a pathogen that in truth is their target, and their timbers shiver collectively at the mention of the Conclave. That spiteful faction will be expanded upon especially in book 2. (Nudge, wink, nod). Also, poor Jaques is in a bit of a pickle given his accidental witnessing of Tom’s foolery on the radio. Who was that deadly voice he heard on the other side? Was it the thing that watched our curious duo traverse the desert from atop the stone pillars?

Well, that’s about it. There are two more chapters to be released for book 1, and I’m almost done the rough first draft of book 2, which at the moment is longer than book one chapter-wise.

I’ve made the conscious decision of making Saturdays post days. Chapter postings come when they are ready; I don’t want to rush them.

If not by next week, then the week after you’ll have chapter five, and I’ll try to get six out soon after.

Writing and Me

Writing is hard. Even now, as I type into this blank docx file, I struggle to come up with the proper words to describe just how hard it is. It becomes far more difficult, at least for me, when writing something like this, instead of prose. (This being the main reason why I’ve put off doing another blog post, even though I chide myself in doing so). That is not to say that I didn’t have difficulties in writing fiction a few years back. Those difficulties came, not from language, but from a skewed mindset on how to embark on projects, and how to write fiction in general. So, as I work on part two of The Limbo Chronologies, and edit part one, I thought about sharing what helps me, and how I go about things. I’ll start with telling you about my routine. Routine Put simply, I sit down every day, (usually in the morning), I open my hour/word tracker excel sheet, I clock in, I write. Project Update: Steady as she goes

Time for another post! Welcome, you faceless reader! You’ve probably noticed chapter two in the sidebar. Perhaps you’ve already read it. Perhaps you enjoyed it. Thank you, regardless. I just finished part two’s third chapter’s first draft, (what a mouthful), and I find myself in a weird spot. Personal Now that I’ve taken it upon myself to start this Blog and to post at least semi-regularly, I feel as though an element of carelessness regarding the story has been stymied. That’s not to say that I’m careless, or that I don’t take my writing seriously. Rather, I feel as though my headspace is different when writing part two, compared to when I was writing part one. In a way, I’ve gone against the ‘writing with the door closed,’ modality, as Stephen King puts it. The thought of everything I write being, not for me personally, but for everyone, does something to the wrinkly fleshy bits in my noggin.
