Project Update: Book Three!
Hello again Reader,
Coming at you all with a shorter post today. The reason? Book three is here! Yay!
Though I’ve not begun writing book four yet, I want to start publishing book three. I really like it and going forwards I will endeavor to keep the following books up until the novel’s end as concise and entertaining as both one and three. I already know, as an author does, how the story ends, but getting there will take some time.
So, strap in and get your sea legs, (for you cybernetically enhanced people quite literally), and cast off upon the strange waters of the Mediterranean Gulf, where stranger things happen on the daily. Will our crew come upon something anomalous? Something unexpected? A sea-monster perhaps, or an unmarked island. Who knows. (I do, but I’m not telling yet).
Book three, like book one, is six chapters. And I’ll get em to you in the following weeks. Again, I remind you that it is a first draft and thus can be rough in spots. I try my best to iron out any egregious kinks before posting, but as I’ve stated before, the lion’s share of editing will happen only once the full first draft of the novel is complete.
Also, I’ve moved the chapter links of book two to the table of contents and changed the title to just “The Limbo Chronologies”. I will also be denoting chapters in each book starting with 1. So, book one has chapters 1-6. And book two has chapters 1-9. This way one can refer to chapters via book then chapter. I.e. 1-5 or 2-7 etc.
Regarding a downloadable PDF, (Yes, I know, I’ve not spoken of it for some time), I’ve been experimenting with formatting, and I think I’ve found the perfect dimensions, font, and margins. Finally…
I don’t want to just slap the classic 12 point Times New Roman with double-spacing doc on you guys but rather make something that is enjoyably readable. Thus, I’ve wracked my at-times-luddite brain to make something that is appeasing to the eye. And I think I’ve found the perfect fit.
Of course, given that book two is out, I’ll be combining one and two into one big file and post that instead of doing so separately. I’ll of course update the file as we go along, adding books as they come, until we’re at the end. I plan to leave the first draft up as a downloadable document ALWAYS, but in what form, too early to say.
My plan is to add a dedication page and the legal texts you’ve seen on this site to the front end of the document, and I’ve even been thinking of getting some art done for the cover. Again, too early to say, though.
On the personal side, it looks like I’ll be getting work sometime soon, so progress will slow down for the period when I’m at sea. Don’t get discouraged, though, for maritime work is 1:1 ratio for work time and off time, so when I work for 5-6 weeks, afterward I’ll have 5-6 weeks leave, which is plenty of time to crank out more chapters in the Chronologies.
That’s enough for today. Go enjoy the first chapter of book three.
Thank you, once again for reading. I’ll see you next Saturday!
