Whodunit?

Hello, Dear Reader,

I come to thee with 5-4, titled: Midnight Murder. Ooh, spooky!

If we go by the title, you might be guessing that someone’s going to die. And that means someone is doing the killing. But who shall be the victim, who the culprit? Did the Atlanteans have enough of the Purists, or vice-versa? Did someone mysteriously fall off the outpost walls? Was someone found torn to shreds by what seems like fangs, or crushed by a massive paw? Spontaneous combustion? An induced seizure from overdosing on malware? Or maybe just a good old (boring) blunt instrument bashed a skull in.

Also, I've decided that I'm moving Book V into part 1. For me it seems the logical choice, and as you will see when the book ends, (now looking as though it'll have 7, maybe even 8 chapters), it's more fitting that the first "arc", if you can call part 1 in its entirety an arc, ends at the edges of known civilization.

As a little forewarning, I am once again re-drafting my novel (main project). This will be a proper fifth draft, and I aim to cut out fluff and ‘kill’ my darlings. A little reorientation, editing, proofreading, and a ruthless critical hand. This will mean that the Chronologies will slow a tad, but I shall never leave them, for this story is my second baby.

Firstborns are good and all, but the second sibling will always be the one who is doted on, so don’t you worry.

Writing the Chronologies has also, in my opinion, shown me many of my writing flaws, and with them in mind I’m re-tackling my Main Boy with a new eye, hoping that the finished work will be something an agent will want to pick up.

For context, I finished draft 4.1 (a slightly edited 4th draft, which I've called a proto-5th draft), in August of 2025. And though it is readable and good, (in my opinion), it can be better. So I see the fact that I haven’t gotten representation as a good thing in a way. It will allow me to fine tune the language and make it the best it can be.

Remember: writing is rewriting. The best comes usually after twisting around the words for a bit. And I ain’t rushing.

Christmas Is Coming, And I'm Leaving (Home)

Just yesterday was the first of the month, and now you’re telling me that we’re already two weeks in, chestnuts roasting on an open fire and all. Impossible. Compared to the November marathon this has been a speedrun. In just one more week I’ll be moving back up north! I can’t quite process the fact that in just seven days I’ll be sitting in the car with my dad with a trailer filled with my things, driving up eight hours back to my hometown. I’ve lived here for three and a half years, give or take, and though I’ve been eagerly waiting for the move, it just doesn’t feel real now that it’s so close. I only have one more week here in this 20 square meter cell with the loft I sleep in. One more week of solitude. One more week of the life I built here, then, never again. Consistency

Hello, reader. September is coming to an end and soon the spooky month, (October), begins. I must admit that from all the twelve months in the year, the tenth is one of my favorites. The air is perfectly crisp and cool, the wind in the trees is loud and biting, and the leaves begin their fiery withering before gently tumbling to the ground. That, and it’s dark, and people tend to go out less late in the evening, leaving the parks and city streets bare, wet, and cold. Leaving it all to me. Also, if you’ve noticed, Chapter three is out! It might take some time before chapter four is ready, seeing as I have simulation training starting next week, (Long days from eight to four), so I won’t have much time between thesis work and all the things I need to do (gym etc.).
