Thank You!
Hello, dear Reader,
September first marked the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THIS BLOG!!
Congratulations us! Crazy to think that one year has already come and gone. Sadly, though, I’ve not managed to conclude part one for this day. But that doesn’t mean it will NEVER be ready.
I begin with a heartfelt thank you to each and all of you who have stuck around for this twelve months. I am eternally grateful in knowing that at least some of you enjoy what I've here put down, and know that I continue to write, knowing that there is at least one of you who keeps coming back for more.
NOW!
As you most astute Readers can tell, 5-6 is in the sidebar. Hurrah! In it the party split up and look for clues. For the keen reader, I’ve spread hints of who the murderer is here and there, and one of the chapters posted so far elucidates their motives.
For those disappointed in the party NOT having found the Verdancy Pathogen by the end of part 1, I say to you: Let it ride!
This story is an Odyssey. The greatest inspirations for TLC in the form of storytelling is something I’ve actually not mentioned before, because I realized it myself only during this past week. That inspiration being: One Piece.
If there are any of you who are familiar with that specific manga/anime, you’ll know that it is LOOOOOOONG and is presently still going. Yours truly is an active follower, reading the new chapters as they come!
The Chronologies in a sense are in the same vein. Instead of being an island-hopping adventure across the globe, it is a general-hopping adventure through a wasteland. Where one has strange powers granted by mysterious fruits, the other has them granted by cybernetics and, spoilers, some strange place beside our own. In retrospect I see other similarities, but I think its fair to say my Chronologies are unique enough not to be considered any form of plagiarism. I really do hate plagiarism.
So. In an homage to One Piece, a creative masterpiece that I look up to, we shall give a title to part 1., and we shall instead call it an arc. But what is its name? I think a good one would be: Modus Fati. This is an umbrella term for the major arc, which in itself, as you've experienced, includes five separate minor arcs. Those being: The Rogue Grower, Tenth by the Sea, The Optima, and Road from Roma. The fifth shall be dubbed once I've finished it, but possible titles have bounced around in my cranium for some time now.
Plans For The Future

With the Modus Fati arc coming to an end sometime in the coming months, I am sticking to my original plan. I will be compiling the arc into a single document and will post it here, of course, and I will also be commissioning artwork for a cover, and formatting Modus Fati into an Epub and a paperback version, and self-publish both.
Now. I still hold to my philosophy that every piece of media in the world should be free, or at least given a totally free option, and I will not bend that principle. So, Modus Fati will ALWAYS be available as a free PDF download, or readable online on this site.
The Epub and Paperback versions will be solely for those who, like me, like physical copies and are particularly neurotic about having everything in one place for ease of use. And also you’d be supporting me and helping me along my path to make this my “day job.”
But when shall thee expect these versions?
Once book five, and the planned “epilogue” are finished! Of course, if I happen to be on board during that time it will take some extra time for me to get things ready, and commissioning artwork is more difficult than you can imagine.
Last time I queried like ten different artists who seemed a fit for the style of TLC, but only one, Leo Nuutinen, replied. Leo’s art, of course, is splendid, and speaking of, I should really get around to putting it up as the main backdrop.
What else?
Ramblings aside, we’ve had a great year and here’s to another great year in coming! Goals for this coming twelve months are to:
1: finally make that About Me page.
2: make some form of forum page (and/or migrate the site to self-hosting)
3: Self-Publish TLC, Modus Fati.
4: Begin the second major arc!
The road to the Verdancy Pathogen and healing the Fracture is long, and I hope you’ll be there with me when an end comes.
Thank you, dear Reader, for this amazing year! Here’s to another!
As you read this I’m driving up to Norway to spend some time in the mountains with my lovely partner.
Please enjoy 5-6, Titled: Snooping. I’ll see you next Saturday!
